RWC Hotel Rwanda was the only hotel in Rwanda to remain open after being closed by the government in April.
The hotel was founded by Rwandan architect Hedi Benaroya in 1995 and is now known as the RWC Rambouillet.
The hotel has hosted international and local business executives for almost two decades, but in April it was closed by Rwanda’s government for safety reasons.
In June, the hotel was reopened by the International Hotel Association, but it remains closed.
The new RWC hotel was built on the site of the old hotel, which was demolished by a government-run plan to build a hotel, a supermarket and a market.
The development has created a mixed reception from some Rwandans who said it was a good idea, while others said it would cause more harm than good.
The hotels future in Rwanda remains uncertain, and the hotel’s future in other countries remains uncertain too.
