And you can’t just buy the cheapest hotel rooms in a city: if you want a top-notch experience, you need to travel the globe to get there.
So, what’s the right price to go for a hotel room?
Here are our top tips for finding the right hotel in a given city.
Pick a hotel that’s centrally located.
If you’re traveling in the middle of nowhere, then it’s hard to go wrong with a centrally located hotel, says TripAdvisors.
In fact, many top hotels are located in cities with some of the biggest metropolitan areas in the world, such as London, Paris, or Tokyo.
So if you can find a hotel near your city of residence, then you’re much more likely to get a great stay.
But if you’re looking for a nice, central location in a big city, it’s important to pick a hotel with good connectivity to nearby transit hubs and shopping centers, such a Boston, New Delhi, or Singapore.
“In a world where travel is increasingly digital, you should always go to a place with good transit connections and good amenities,” TripAditors founder Chris Nisbett says.
A place like Paris is not necessarily a great choice for travelers who want a central location, because it’s a huge city with lots of major transit routes, but the hotel is centrally located, and there are a lot of great international restaurants.”
Pick the hotel with amenities.
To get a good night’s sleep, you’re going to want a place that’s got a good bar, lounge, and lounge bar.
And if you need some entertainment, the bar will probably have an arcade or a few TV screens.
But the hotel also needs to have the most basic amenities, like a TV that can stream movies and TV shows.
“If you have a good place to relax, but not a great bar or lounge, then the room should probably be a hotel,” Nisbert says.
For instance, a place like the Waldorffe Astoria is the most expensive room in the hotel, but it doesn’t have any of the amenities that make it a great option for nightlife.
“Even if you have the best amenities, it is still a very expensive room, especially for those who want to stay in the most luxurious hotel,” he says.
Find a hotel’s concierge.
There are tons of services that help you get the best sleep, but some of them are expensive.
For example, a hotel concierges are usually on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but you can book an individual concierged service at a discounted rate of $100.
For $20, you can get an extra hour of concierging for every two nights that you stay at a hotel.
And of course, there’s also a concierger service called The Hotel Concierge Service, which lets you
