Key West, Florida — — — Key West Hotel, which was a top-rated hotel in the U.S. from 1955 to 2005, has announced it will close on Feb. 14.
It is closing the doors to its first floor.
A spokesman for the company said in a statement that it had been planning to keep its current occupancy levels until the end of the year.
The company’s CEO and chairman, Larry Murphy, told the Tampa Bay Times that the company’s management has been working hard to find a new location, but that it has not yet been determined a suitable site.
Murphy also told the Times that his company had not been able to find the right location for the new hotel.
It has been open since the 1980s.
A hotel in Florida is one of the most expensive destinations for vacationers.
In 2018, the average cost of a room in Key West averaged $1,600, according to the U-T San Antonio Journal.
The resort also has a number of other popular properties, including the Key West Golf Club, the Hilton Garden Inn, the Lakeview Golf Club and the Red Rock Lake Resort and Spa.
Key West has also been a popular destination for a number who have been in the business for years.
The Hilton Garden Hotel is the most popular hotel in Key and the Hilton Hotel in Florida.
The Lakeview Resort and Casino was the most successful resort in Florida with $8.3 billion in hotel revenue in 2018, according in the Florida Hotel & Resort Association.
Other popular properties in the resort include the Key Largo Inn, Lakewood Apartments, the Key Biscayne Resort, the Westin Hotel, the Miami Beach Marriott and the Miami-Dade Marriott.
The Tampa Bay Resort & Casino is the second-most popular resort in the state with $3.4 billion in revenue in the 2018 fiscal year.
In addition, the Orlando-Hollywood International Airport is also popular in Key with about 15% of the resort’s revenue, according.
In a statement, the company noted that the closing of the hotel would not impact the company or the surrounding area.
KeyWest Resort is located about a half hour from Key West International Airport.
