Chattanooga, Tennessee, may have been the “most luxurious” hotel in the United States in the year 2020, according to a new study.
The Chattanooga Marriott is home to more than 200 rooms and suites, according a 2016 report from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The hotel was the second-most luxurious hotel in Tennessee in that same year, with an average stay of $3,700 per night.
The city also ranked as the third most expensive city in the U.S., with an annual income of $8,300.
The report, which was conducted by Pricewaterhill’s research and consulting division, ranked the 10 largest metropolitan areas in the world, based on average hotel room spending.
The cities were chosen from among the cities that had the highest average hotel occupancy rates per capita, as well as per capita spending on amenities, amenities and services.
While the average stay at the Hilton Tennessee City Center in Chattanooga was just over $4,000, it was more than $12,000 for the city, according the study.
The study also showed the city had the fifth-highest per capita income of any major U.K. city, which is nearly $18,000 per capita.
Chattanooga’s average monthly stay was $5,900, according Pricewater-Hilton’s data.
The average per-night spending was $3.50, compared to $2.95 for San Francisco.
The two cities had similar per capita GDP, with the Chattanooga city earning $9,500 per capita while the San Francisco city earned $15,700.
The study also found the Chattanooga Marriott was the most luxurious hotel of all the major cities.
The Hilton Memphis and the Hilton Atlanta both ranked at the top of the list.
According to the report, the 10 most luxurious hotels in the country include the Waldorf Astoria, the Shangri-La Hotel, the Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas.
